2 labourers run over by truck

Two labourers, including a woman, were run over by a speeding truck in Fatehpur Beri area of south Delhi early on Sunday.
Police officials said the incident took place at around 4.30 am on the Mehrauli-Gurgaon (MG) Road in Arjungarh area. The deceased, identified as Sita, 30, hailing from R

ajasthan, and Kailash, 40, a native of Madhopur, Jharkhand, were carrying a trolley to a construction site when the accident occurred, the officials said.
“The two were going to a construction site carrying a trolley loaded with soil. Sita was sitting on the trolley while Kailash was pulling it. When they started crossing the road, a speeding truck going towards Gurgaon hit them, causing severe head injuries to both. While Kailash died on the spot, Sita was taken to AIIMS Trauma Centre where she succumbed during treatment,” said a police official.
The police has registered a case of rash and negligent driving causing death at the Fatehpur Beri police station against the driver who escaped from the spot abandoning his truck, which has been confiscated.
