2 teenaged girls kill themselves
Two girl students committed suicide in the city on Saturday. In the first incident, a Class 9 student committed suicide by hanging herself in Mangolpuri on Saturday afternoon. “The deceased girl had returned from her school and had locked herself in her room at around 3 pm. She was found hanging from the ceiling fan by her mother,” said DCP (outer) Chhaya Sharma.
The victim did not leave behind any suicide note. “The post mortem report is yet to be received. We are investigating the matter,” DCP Sharma said.
In a similar case, a 14-year-old girl committed suicide after her aunt allegedly scolded her for talking over phone endlessly instead of concentrating on her studies.
“The incident was reported at 6 pm yesterday from New Delhi’s Mandir Marg area and the victim has been identified as Amme. She used to stay with her aunt who works as a nurse at Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital,” said a senior police officer.
