2 wanted contract killers arrested
The crime branch of the Delhi police have arrested two alleged contract killer for their alleged involvement in several criminal cases including murder and attempt to murder.
The police official said a team led by DCP Bhisham Singh had got a tip-off that the accused persons would be coming near Nand Nagri bus stand.
Both the accused were arrested after a brief scuffle. They were identified as Sanjay and Mahender. During their search, one automatic pistol of .32 bore with two live cartridges and one .315 bore country-made pistol with one live cartridge was recovered from them. The accused persons told the cops that their gang has three more members, Manoj, Arjun and Anand and all are in jail. The police said Sanjay is involved in more than sixteen criminal cases. A cash reward of `3,000 was declared on his arrest by UP police.
In another incident, a 17-year-old man allegedly stabbed four persons, including a woman, after having an argument over a petty issue in New Usmanpur area of northeast Delhi. A senior police official said the victims were identified as Shanti, her son Arvind, Sarvan and Saket. All the four victims were hospitalised with a nearby hospital where they are undergoing treatment. The official said that the victims live in a rented accommodation in the area. On Wednesday morning, they had gone at the top floor of the house to get water when a argument took place.

SI shoots self with own pistol

A 58-year-old sub inspector of the Delhi Police allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself with his service pistol at Vinay Marg in Chankayapuri area of New Delhi district on Wednesday morning.
A senior police official said they got a call of the incident at around 8 am. The deceased was identified as Kaptan Singh, a resident of Ladpur village in Outer Delhi. He was posted in the security wing of the Delhi police. “On Wednesday morning, he reached at Vinay Marg police security wing. He took his service pistol and shot himself on his temple from point blank range. He was taken to RML hospital where he was declared brought dead. No suicide note was recovered from his possession,” said the police official. A police source said that he had taken a loan due to which he was living in depression and this could be the reason behind his extreme step. New Delhi DCP S.B.S. Tyagi said they were trying to ascertain the reason behind his extreme step. The deceased is survived by his two sons and a wife.
