21-yr-old NRI found dead after party

A 21-year-old non-resident Indian was killed in a late night party at a South Delhi apartment. The incident was reported in the ealry hours of Saturday when the deceased, identified as Anmol Sama, was found in a pool of blood in front of Southpark Apartments at Kalkaji area.

A passerby spotted him and informed the police and he was taken to a nearby hospital where succumbed to his injuries.
Sama, an American citizen who completed his class 12 from New York, had come to India in January and was residing at his grandparents’ house in Greater Kailash.
The police suspects that some friend of the deceased, who was at the party, must have hit him with a hard object.
According to a senior police official, Sama was invited by one of his childhood friend — Chikki — at his apartment for a farewell party as he was leaving to Canada for higher studies.
Sources said, Chikki introduced Sama to three of his other friends at the apartment.
“Ankit, the cousin of the deceased, said that he received a miss call at the cell phone of his father, Anil Sama, at around 12.05 am from Chikki’s mobile number. When Anil called him back, the call remained unanswered. In suspicion, Anil made a call to Anmol but he did not responded. After 15 minutes Chikki’s mother informed Anil that his son Anmol has fallen sick after having the dinner and he was rushed to the nearby All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS). She advised him to reach the hospital as soon as possible,” said a senior police official.
The police said that after Anmol succumbed to his injuries at around 2 am.
By the time Anmol’s family reached the hospital, he was dead.
Doctors at the hospital, on the condition of anonymity, revealed that a 15 cm wide and 2 inch deep injury mark was found on Anmol’s head, which was probably a result of a hard hit with an iron rod, the doctors claimed.
The loss of blood from the injury proved fatal for him.
The police has detained four of his friends for questioning and an FIR has been lod-ged following the incident under Section 302 of IPC at Kalkaji police station.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
