Clear police stations of junk: Gupta
Shemin Joy
New Delhi
Nov. 21: The “junkyard-type” look of police stations has earned the wrath of Delhi police chief B.K. Gupta who has asked his men to clean up the facilities and remove old vehicles lying around as soon as possible.
The stern message from Mr Gupta came after his visits to two police stations.
“I have asked the police stations to remove junk vehicles and clean up police stations so as to give a new environment. Things need to improve drastically,” Mr Gupta said.
The official said the purpose of his visits was to convey to the personnel that the police stations needed a “lot of improvement”. A lot of junk is seen strewn across the premises of police stations.
“We have set up a women personnel-controlled desk at every police station. A complainant will have the first contact with a woman officer in each police station,” he said. —PTI
