According to the police, Neha, daughter of Jagdev, an engineer with Doordarshan, and a resident of Bengali Market in Connaught Place, left home at 7 pm in her car and on the way informed her sister Nidhi, through an SMS that she was going to end her life. Nidhi informed her uncle, who in turn informed the police by 7.30 pm.
By the time, the police reached the spot, they found her car abandoned on one of the carriageways of the ITO Bridge. A suicide note was also recovered from the spot in which Neha had purportedly mentioned that she was depressed over not being able to get a job.
The police has launched a search for her body in the river. Her body was still to be recovered till reports last came in. A case has been registered at the IP Estate police station.
