24-yr-old ‘abducted’ from CP

A 24-year-old youth went missing under highly mysterious circumstances from Connaught Place on Wednesday evening. The police officials said the victim, identified as Harsh Sharma, had gone for some official work to Connaught Place. “At around 11.15 pm, the victim’s father, identified as Gyan Prakash Sharma, got a ransom call

made from Harsh’s mobile. The abductors alleged demanded Rs 15 lakhs as the first instalment for the safe release of his son,” a police official said. Mr Prakash immediately called up police control room and a case was registered at Connaught Place police station in New Delhi district.
However, police sources revealed that they were investigating the involvement of the victim himself in the matter. Police investigations have revealed that Harsh had recently purchased a car. “He had to deposit a major part of his salary in paying the EMIs towards his car loan. We are investigating the case from other angles also,” a police source said.
