25-year-old executive found hanging in park
A 25-year-old youth was found hanging in a park in east Delhi’s Mayur Vihar on Tuesday morning with the police suspecting it to be a case of suicide.
The police said the deceased, identified as Varun Mishra, who worked with a multinational company as an executive, was found hanging from a tree in Supreme park in
Mayur Vihar I by morning walkers on Tuesday at around 6 am, who immediately made a call to the police control room. A team of cops arrived at the spot and the victim was taken to Lal Bahadur Shastri hospital where he was declared brought dead.
The police said Varun lived with his family in a flat in nearby Hindustan Apartments. The victim was missing since Monday evening.
The police has not recovered any suicide note from the deceased and the exact cause of the incident has been confirmed immediately.
“We are trying to record the statement of the deceased’s parents. Some of his friends are being questioned and it appears that Varun was depressed over some matter from the last month that may have triggered the incident. The body has been sent for a post-mortem examination and the result is awaited. So far, no foul-play is being suspected in the case as no external injuries were found on the body of the deceased,” a senior police official said.
