28-yr jeweller thrashed, robbed in E. Delhi
A 28-year-old jeweller was assaulted and locked up in his east Delhi shop on Tuesday afternoon by three unidentified assailants who took away jewellery worth lakhs of rupees.
The incident took place at around 12.30 pm. Police officials said the victim, identified as Sachin Malhotra, who has a jewellery shop at Vikas Marg, Shakarpur, in east Delhi, was in his shop when three unidentified men entered and told him that they wanted to purchase a gold chain.
“The victim opened a locker containing jewellery boxes. However, one of the assailants got up and tried to snatch a box from him. He was assaulted and later locked in the shop,” a senior police official said.
