3 Nigerians held for cocaine trade
The Delhi police has arrested three Nigerians in two separate incidents and claimed to have recovered 30 grams of cocaine from them.
In the first incident, Chris Chuwuemeka alias Prince, a resident of village Humayunpur in Safdarjung Enclave was arrested by the special cell on Wednesday. The police said Prince, who is suspected to be a part of an international drug syndicate, was arrested near NCC Camp.
“Ten grams of cocaine was recovered from his possession. During interrogation, he revealed that he used to supply cocaine to high profile persons in the capital, particularly at reputed hotels, clubs and pubs,” said deputy commissioner of police, special cell, Arun Kampani.
Mr Kampani said Prince, who was in a live-in relationship with a girl he had met in a party of a common friend about 6 months ago, has been booked in three drug cases registered in the capital.
In a related incident, two Nigerians were held from south west Delhi’s Dwarka area and 20 grams of fine quality cocaine was recovered from them.
The accused have been identified as Dennis Sopuluchukwu and Azubuogu Ekene Patrick. The police said the accused come from middle-class families of Nigeria.
“Dennis was staying in Dwarka since the last 18 months while Azubuogu Ekene Patrick lives in Mud Island, Mumbai. Around 20 grams of cocaine was recovered from their possession,” a senior police official said. The garment business provided a cover to their activities, the police said.
