30-year-old ‘raped’ in car, 2 arrested

Two youth were arrested by south Delhi police for allegedly raping a 30-year-old woman in their car in Mehrauli area on the night of November 18. The victim had alleged that the duo had abducted her from near Andheri Mod and raped her in their Maruti Alto car. Later, they dumped her at an isolated place in Bhiwadi, Rajasthan.

During the probe, it turned out that the woman had met the duo at a pub in Gurgaon and that she was not abducted. The arrested were identified as Balwant Singh and Mahesh, both from Bhiwadi.
“The woman lives in a rented accommodation in Kishangarh and is pursuing computer course. She had alleged that the duo forcibly dragged her into their car near Andheria Mod. But her call details did not show her location in that area,” said the officer. Since the woman was adamant on her allegations, she was sent for a medical test which confirmed sexual assault. Accordingly, a case was registered and the accused were arrested from their house.
