30-yr trader found dead in Gurgaon
The badly decomposed body of a 30-year-old businessman, who had gone missing since November 11, was found in his Honda City car in a posh locality of Gurgaon on Sunday morning. The police suspects business rivalry to be the reason behind the kidnapping-cum-murder incident.
According to the Gurgaon police, the incident came to light on Sunday morning when passersby complained about foul smell emanating from a Honda City car parked at Galleria Market in DLF, Phase-I, Gurgaon. The police reached the spot and found the body, identified later as that of Amit Bhardwaj, lying on the rear seat of the car.
It appeared that he had been attacked with a sharp-edged weapon. The body seemed to have been two to three days old, the police said. It was possible that Mr Bhardwaj was killed within a few hours of him going missing.
Earlier, the family members of Mr Bhardwaj, who ran a courier agency from Civil Lines, Gurgaon, had reported that he had gone missing since November 11. However, the family had not received any ransom call while his phone was switched off.
Preliminary investigations have indicated that business or personal rivalry may be the reason behind the incident. His brothers are being questioned to ascertain the exact sequence of events and also identify the culprits. A case of kidnapping and murder has been registered at the Civil Lines police station and further investigations are on.
