At 34.2ºC, highest min temp in 5 years
The maximum temperature in the city on Wednesday was recorded at 42.8 degrees Celsius, which was nearly two degrees less than Tuesday’s maximum of 44.1 degrees. However, the minimum temperature, recorded at 34.2 degrees Celsius, was up by more than six degrees Celsius over Tuesday’s minimum of 28.2 degrees. It is the highest minimum temperature recorded on June 2 in the last five years. A dust haze hung over the city for the better part of the day.
According to the weatherman, the maximum temperature was two degrees Celsius above normal, while the minimum temperature was six degrees above normal. The humidity levels on the other hand were on the lower side with the maximum and minimum recorded at 38 per cent and 21 per cent. The high minimum temperature was largely on account of dust haze preventing radiation of heat from the earth.
Meanwhile, the forecast for Thursday does not indicate any relief with the maximum temperature expected to be about 44 degrees and the minimum likely to be around 30 degrees Celsius. Dust storms and thunderstorms were likely to occur towards evening or night.
Isolated rain or thundershowers may take place over the next few days even as the day temperature is expected to come down, said the weatherman.
