4 killed, 3 injured in separate accidents
Four persons were killed and three others were injured in separate road accidents reported in the city in the last 24 hours.
In the first accident, a 27-year-old biker, identified as Sunil Kumar, who was on the way to his west Delhi residence was runover by a speeding Santro car.
“The incident occurred when Sunil, Dharamraj and Satpal were going home. A speeding car hit their motorcycle from right side, causing them to fall on the road,” said a senior police officer. The injured were rushed to DDU hospital where Sunil, a resident of west Delhi’s Tihar Village, was declared brought dead on arrival.
The second incident was reported 15 minutes later from east Delhi’s Shakarpur area. The victim Rajender Singh, 40, an MCD employee and a resident of Hisar in Haryana, was runover by an unidentified vehicle. He was rushed to the LBS hospital where he was declared brought dead on arrival.
Another speeding TATA 407 ran over 16-year-old Santosh Kumar at NIS bus stand in southeast Delhi’s Okhla area at 6 am on Tuesday morning. “He was rushed to the AIIMS Trauma Centre where he was declared brought dead on arrival,” police said.
Hours later, a 26-year-old sales executive was allegedly runover by a speeding TATA 407 goods carrier in northeast Delhi’s Shastri Park area. The incident was reported from the Shastri Park crossing at 1.30 pm and the victim has been identified as Ravi Kumar. “Kumar was ferrying his cousin Malti, 16, from Victoria Girls’ senior secondary school to his residence in new Usmanpur when the mishap happened.
