75-year-old found killed, tied up

A senior citizen was found dead in mysterious circumstances at his Janata Flats residence in Janakpuri area on Tuesday. The deceased, identified as 75-year-old K.S. Mani, a former employee of a news agency, was found dead by his son John who had come to pay him a visit.

An FIR has been registered at the Hari Nagar police station in connection with the murder. However, the investigating officers have ruled out robbery as a motive in the case.
According to the investigating officers, John who lives in east Delhi visited his father’s Janakpuri residence early on Tuesday. “John found the main door of the residence open and later found his father dead with his hands tied with a piece of cloth,” said the police.
While, several people in the neighbourhood have been questioned in connection with the case since morning, the investigating officers are yet to find identify the accused.
Mani is survived by three sons and two daughters. The deceased was living alone in a one-room flat for the past three years.
