8 lakh apply for teaching exams
Over eight lakh candidates have registered for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) being held for the first time in 2011 for recruitment in the central government schools.
The test will be organised at 1,178 centres in 86 cities across the country, of which two are overseas. The test will be held on June 26, for which the process of dispatching admit cards has already started.
In all 7.9 lakh candidates have been registered for this examination. The Central Board of Secondary Education has also uploaded candidates’ information, including roll number and the centre of examination, on its website www.cbse.nic.in.
A control room will be set up from June 20 for the benefit of candidates.
