`80 lakhs robbed from 2 in Rohini
A father-son duo was robbed of `80 lakhs in outer Delhi while the family of a retired NCERT official was held hostage by armed robbers.
Ram Kumar Goyal, who runs an estate firm, and his son Kuldeep were going in a Toyota Corolla car when four assailants in a car intercepted them near Rohini (west) Metro Station at 9.30 pm on Thursday.
“They broke the windshield by firing shots. When Kuldeep halted his car on hearing gunshots, the assailants held him at gunpoint and took away the bags,” said a police official.
The assailants escaped with the victim’s car which was found ablaze in Mangolpuri later.
In another incident, four assailants barged into the residence of former NCERT official, Gulshan Rai Gambhir, 68, in Anand Vihar and held him, his wife Shashi and children Tarun and Meeta hostage. They took the keys and took away cash, jewellery and valuables worth lakhs of rupees, a source said.
