Accused in judicial custody, refuse TIP
The three of the six accused arrested by the Delhi police for allegedly gangraping a 23-year-old paramedical student in a moving bus on Sunday sent to 14-day judicial custody. The accused on Sunday again refused to undergo test identification parade (TIP) by saying that they committed a heinous crime and deserved to be hanged.
The three accused — Ram Singh, Pawan and Vinay Sharma — with around 30-40 police personnel were produced before metropolitan magistrate Pawan Kumar after the expiry of their police custody. They were remanded to 14-day judicial and will be produced in court on January 6.
The three accused categorically refused again to undergo the TIP by the male friend of the gang-rape victim inside the prison. When the judge asked the accused if they want to undergo TIP, one of them refused and said “humein aap phasi (hang) ya jo bhi saza dena hai de do, lekin humein apne pehchaan nahi karane hai” and added they had committed a heinous crime.
