Agents trying to take people for a ride, says BJP
Even when there are four months to go for the draw of lots for the DDA housing scheme, the BJP on Tuesday charged that several middlemen and real estate agents are trying to take people for a ride. The BJP has alleged that the middlemen are making illegal money by promising to get the people flats in the DDA Housing scheme 2010.
“Many representations are complaining that middlemen and real estate agents are asking for hefty sums of money from people promising them flats,” BJP spokesperson Rajiv Pratap Rudy said, while calling upon the government to intervene.
The BJP leader even alleged that more than `500 crores have been collected by these agents in the 2010 DDA scheme, while a large number of middlemen are intervening to make back-hand deals. He stated that the BJP is for a full transparent lottery system in full public eye.
Meanwhile, the banks have started scrutinising the application forms which they received from the people till December 24 when the scheme closed. It has emerged that the private bank, Axis Bank, has received the maximum number of application forms.
