AIIMS docs strike illegal, rules court

The Delhi high court on Monday said that the AIIMS doctors’ strike against reservation of seats for OBCs was illegal and directed the authorities to punish those who resorted to such a method of protest.

A division bench comprising Chief Justice of the Delhi high court Justice Dipak Misra and Justice Sanjiv Khanna said doctors resorting to strike or demonstrations would amount to contempt of court.
The court passed the order after hearing a PIL seeking action against the doctors who participated in a 17-day strike in May 2006.
