Autopsy shows multiple fractures
The post-mortem of the restaurant manager who was killed near Khan Market on Tuesday afternoon was conducted by a panel of doctors at the Maulana Azad Medical College on Thursday.
The examination wa carried out by a three-member team led by Dr Chitranjan Kumar of MAMC. The other two doctors were from Sanjay Gandhi Hospital and B.R. Ambedkar Hospital. A detailed report is likely to be submitted to the police in a few days.
Sources said that the preliminary findings have revealed that the deceased, Rajeev Wilson Jolly, the manager of Amici Cafe in Khan Market, had suffered fractures in several body parts.
“The victim’s ribs were broken and there were severe injuries on the head. The skin on the face had been ripped apart and he had suffered multiple fractures in the right leg,” a source said.
The Delhi police has maintained that the accused, Vikas Aggarwal, a commercial pilot with Jet Airways, didn’t “intentionally” ran his Ford car over the deceased.
“We are waiting for the final report. If the forensic examination reveals that the injuries were inflicted rather than suffered in the accident, fresh charges will be pressed against the accused,” a senior police official said.
“We are yet to receive post-mortem findings. Once we get the report, we will decide on future course of action,” additional commissioner (New Delhi), K.C. Dwivedi said.
