Bakery owner murdered in Nand Nagri
A bakery owner was stabbed to death in Nand Nagri here on Thursday allegedly by a group of unidentified young men.
The police said 21-year-old deceased, Rakesh Mehrana, was on his way home from Harsh Vihar on a bicycle around 8.30 pm on Thursday when a group of young men
waylaid him near Rajiv Gandhi Super Speciality Hospital and allegedly attacked him with a sharp-edged weapons. He fell down on the spot while the assailants managed to make their way out of the area. The police is suspecting personal enmity as a reason behind the attack.
The PCR was alerted by a pedestrian. When the police reached the spot, Mr Rakesh was taken to Guru Tegh Bahadur Hospital where he died during the treatment. “The assailants were probably three or four in number. As the belongings of the deceased are found intact, robbery does not seem to be the motive. It could be a case of personal enmity. We are probing all angles,” said a senior police officer.
