Bandh a flop show in Delhi: CM

While Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikhsit on Monday said that the “Bharat Bandh” organised by the Opposition parties was a “flop show”, she also stated that the price rise is a “matter of concern” for the Delhi and the Central governments.

The Delhi CM also stated that sincere efforts are on to obtain prices of essential commodities. However, talking to the media on Monday, the chief minister maintained that the bandh called by the Opposition parties failed terribly to evoke a response.
“People in the capital city have not extended their support to the bandh as they know the ‘credibility level’ of the BJP in Delhi,” Ms Dikshit said while talking to the media. Ms Dikshit also said even if price rise is an issue, it is hard for people to go with the strikes called by the BJP.
However, the country wide strike did not hit the normal life in the city. The country wise strike call was also not followed by drivers of buses, autos and private vehicles which were seen plying on the streets from early hours, while offices registered their normal attendance.
