Biker gang robs Rs 5 lakhs from bank manager

A manager of the branch of a nationalised bank here was allegedly robbed of `5 lakhs cash by a biker gang in Sector 31 on Saturday, the police said.

According to the police, the man, identified as Dubriyal, is a manager at the Sector 31 branch of Corporation Bank.
Dubriyal was taking the cash to the Corporation Bank’s branch at Sector 35 on Saturday afternoon when the bike-borne gang overtook his car and forced him to stop.
One of the robbers then allegedly opened fire at Dubriyal’s car and forced him to open the door.
The robbers then took away the bag containing the money.
The police said an FIR has been lodged in this regard.
Meanwhile, the body of a one-month old baby girl was recovered from a dustbin near Sector 12 government inter college here on Saturday.
Local residents saw the baby, wrapped in a cloth, lying in the dustbin on Saturday morning and informed the police.
Police sources said that it appears that some unwed mother may have dumped the baby girl in the dustbin.
The police officials are scanning the records of all the nearby nursing homes to ascertain the identity of the child and to trace her mother.
