Bikers kill fuel pump employee
Six unidentified bike-borne assailants stabbed to death a HP petrol pump employee and injured three others in northwest Delhi’s Saraswati Vihar area on Wednesday night when they were asked to pay for the petrol.
Police officials said the deceased has been identified as Rakesh, 32, a native of Bulandshahr, who was working at the pump since the last few months. The incident took place at around 1.20 am when a scuffle broke out between the petrol pump staff and six assailants travelling on three bikes. A case of murder along with other relevant sections of IPC has been registered against the accused who are on the run.
Eyewitnesses and staff members have told the police that argument broke out when the assailants refused to pay for petrol. “During the argument, the assailants took out knives and pounced on four staff members. While Rakesh died on the spot, three others Dharmendra, Chirag and Akshay, all in their late twenties, were rushed to Babu Jagjiwan Ram hospital where they are undergoing treatment,” an official said.
Police officials said the assailants wanted to get their bikes filled immediately but Rakesh asked them to wait for their turn. “One assailant got infuriated and stabbed Rakesh fatally in the stomach and throat. Seeing this, other staff members rushed to his help and tried to overpower the assailants but three of them suffered injuries,” a police official said.
The statement of the victims and the eyewitnesses are being corroborated to ascertain the exact sequence of events.
