Bikers snatch bag containing cash
Two unidentified bike-borne assailants snatched a bag containing lakhs of cash from two youth in Vivek Vihar area of east Delhi in broad daylight on Tuesday.
The police officials said the incident took place at around 1.45 pm when the victims, identified as Gulshan Chawla, a resident of Jhilmil colony in Vivek Vihar, a
ccompanied by his cousin Deepak were going to Punjab National Bank in Vivek Vihar on a scooter to deposit Rs 3 lakhs in cash which they were carrying in a bag. As they approached the bank, two unidentified assailants, who were riding a bike, crashed their vehicle into the victims’ scooter and both fell down.
“Before the victims could react, one of the assailants took out a revolver and asked Deepak to hand over the cash. When he refused, the assailants snatched the bag and fled from the area. Two security guards of the bank were witnessing the entire incident but they didn’t react, which helped the assailants in escaping from the area,” a senior police official said.
The victims then called up the police control room.
