Bikers snatch Dutch embassy official chain

In yet another case of snatching, a Netherlands embassy official on Friday became a victim of snatchers after two unidentified motorcycle-borne men snatched her gold chain on gunpoint in east Delhi.

Ila Singh, a senior programme officer (press and culture) in the embassy, was walking towards a bus stop to drop her daughter to her schoolbus in Mayur Vihar Phase I when the incident took place at around 7.10 am, said the police.
So far the police officers have said, “Two men on a motorcycle snatched Ms Singh’s gold chain and fled away. They were wearing helmets. Even though it was near an auto stand, no body dared to chase them since they showed the gun while leaving.” Though Ms Singh could not note down the registration number of the vehicle, an elderly man doing his morning walk did note half the number, which has been conveyed to the police. While the case has been registered at the Mayur Vihar police station, further investigations in the case are going on.
