Bikers waylay trader, loot cash
On a day when bikers once again went on a rampage in the city, almost striking at will, two bike-borne assailants assaulted a 37-year-old businessman near HDFC Bank branch in Vikaspuri, snatched his bag containing `1.85 lakhs in cash and escaped with it successfully.
The police said the victim, Prem Narayan, an egg tray manufacturer, had come to HDFC Bank at D-Block, Vikaspuri to withdraw cash. After withdrawing `1.85 lakhs.
“Prem Narayan must have travelled some 200 metres away from the bank branch when two bike-borne assailants intercepted him and hit his motorcycle. Narayan fell on the ground along with the motorcycle following which the assailants started assaulting him.
They hit him on the nose and snatched his bag containing `1.85 lakhs cash and escaped with the booty,” said a senior police officer.
The victim made a PCR call at around 3.45 pm following which a team of policemenn reached the spot and took him for medical examination.
The police later recorded Narayan’s statement and registered a case. No arrests have been made so far in the case.
