BJP calls for early Assembly session
The BJP legislative party in its meeting on Monday demanded an early session of the Delhi Assembly to discuss the status of the preparations for the Commonwealth Games. Also a delegation of the Delhi BJP leaders called on the lieutenant governor Tejendra Khanna demanding action against the state revenue minister Raj Kumar Chouhan for his alleged role in stalling action against a resort for tax evasion.
The BJP legislative party in a resolution passed in the meeting demanded that the Session be immediately convened so that members could discuss the worsening law and order situation, delay and allegations of corruption in the preparation for the Games, the flooding of various parts of the city in just one shower.
The party added that the issues of shortage of drinking water in many parts of the city, frequent powercuts, stalled developmental work in unauthorised colonies and other pressing issues need to be discussed in the Assembly on an urgent basis. Meanwhile, a BJP delegation led by the state party chief Vijendra Gupta called on the lieutenant governor.
