BJP files complaint against Games OC
Two Delhi BJP leaders on Friday lodged a complaint with the police against the Commonwealth Games Organising Committee for alleged acts of corruption. Tughlaqabad BJP MLA Ramesh Bidhuri and state party leader R.P. Singh filed the complaint with the Parliament Street police station on Friday.
The two leaders have filed their compliant against the Organising Committee for “cheating, fraud, forgery and embezzlement of funds and criminal breach of trust by the officials”. The complaint also accused agents, contractors and some unknown persons working for the Organising Committee under Section 406, 409, 420, 464, 468, 471, 477-A, 511, 201, 120-B and 34 IPC and also under Prevention of Corruption Act. In the complaint, the two BJP leaders have made mention of payments made by the Organising Committee to a company in London for the services rendered during the Queen Baton Relay. They have also made a detailed mention of the wrongdoing in the R.K. Khanna tennis stadium along with the procurement of lawn bowling tracks. They have alleged that this have been built at around Rs 1.36 crores when it could have been done at just Rs 27 lakhs.
The two BJP leaders have also alleged rigging of bills by the contractors and officials in procurement of various materials for the Games.
