BJP lodges case against Games irregularities
Senior BJP leaders on Monday lodged a complaint at the Parliament street police station against alleged bunglings in the just concluded Commonwealth Games. The BJP leaders, including Vijay Goel, party secretary Kirit Somaiya and Delhi BJP chief Vijender Gupta, also submitted memorandum to the CVC commissioner and CAG, demanding completion of inquiry into the Games financial irregularities soon.
“Money worth thousands of crores was sent to foreign countries through Hawala. How this money will be recovered? The reports of the CAG are already biting the dust. What is the guarantee that the actual action will be taken on the reports of the CAG after the inquiry is done and will the guilty persons get stern punishment,” the BJP leaders demanded to know from the CVC and CAG.
The BJP leaders have also demanded time bound inquiry by several government agencies in the “bungling”. In their complaint at police station, the BJP leaders have stated that “the Organising Committee of the Commonwealth Games was registered on 10th May, 2010 by the Registrar of Societies, then the question is how Suresh Kalmadi and company spent thousands of crores before the registration of Committee”. In the complaint, the BJP leaders have also demanded that the role of B.S. Lali in broadcast “bungling” should also be inquired.
