BJP rejects imposition of new taxes
Delhi BJP president Vijender Gupta and Leader of the Opposition in Delhi Assembly Prof. Vijay Malhotra have directed MCD standing committee chairman Yogendra Chandolia to reject the imposition of the new taxes proposed in the MCD budget.
“The MCD successfully increased revenue collection from `3,000 to `7,000 crores without imposing any new tax in the last 4 years. We are not in favour of imposing any new tax on the people facing a price spiral,” Mr Gupta. He said that the proposal of new taxes by the commissioner is a result of connivance between the Congress and the bureaucracy.
