BJP to stage stir on CWG corruption
The Delhi BJP will stage a dharna on Parliament Street in New Delhi on the issue of alleged financial bungling in the Games projects.
Delhi BJP president Vijender Gupta and a senior leader Madan Lal Khurana said that the manner in which the preparations were going on would lower the image of the country before the Commonwealth nations that are supposed to participate in the event.
Mr Khurana added that only two days before the CVC report came into the public domain, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had given a clean chit to the organising committee, which is responsible for successful conduct of the Games. Mr Khurana questioned whether this would not indirectly affect the investigations by the CVC and the CBI. Mr Gupta said the party will ask the government to explain the spending of each and every paise for the Games.
