BJP wants Kalmadi arrested
Delhi BJP chief Vijender Gupta on Tuesday demanded “immediate” arrest of the OC chairman of the just concluded Commonwealth Games Suresh Kalmadi. He also called for seizing of the passport of Mr Kalmadi.
“Removing Mr Kalmadi from the post of secretary of the Congress Working Committee is not sufficient. He is an accused in bungling of thousands of crores in the Games. Prime Minister Manmohan Singh should direct the Union home minister to immediately arrest Mr Kamladi and seize his passport,” Delhi BJP chief said on Tuesday.
Mr Gupta stated that the BJP has initiated agitation in the capital, demanding arrest of all the persons involved in the “bungling” in the just concluded Commonwealth Games. He also sought not only arrest of the accused in the “Games bungling” but even of confiscating their properties.
“In this connection two complaints have been filed at the Parliament Street police station by the BJP leaders, demanding punishment to the accused persons in the bungling. However, the police is avoiding taking action against the accused, as they are perceived to be too powerful,” alleged Mr Gupta.
