BKI chief provided with chargesheets
Tis Hazari court chief metropolitan magistrate (CMM) Vinod Yadav on Monday ordered that the chief of terrorist organisation Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) Jagtar Singh Hawara be provided a copy of the chargesheets against him in cases relating to twin blasts at Satyam and Liberty cinema halls in the city in 2005.
The CMM also asked the Delhi police to give the accused the other documents related to his crime in the twin blasts as he could not come to stand trial in the city due to his other pending criminal cases in Punjab. Hawara is also facing rigorous life imprisonment in the assassination case of former Punjab chief minister Beant Singh. Hawara was brought to the city on October 25.

`4-lakh relief to stampede victim’s kin

Nov. 8: Justice Mool Chand Garg of the Delhi high court on Monday directed the ministry of railways to pay a compensation of `4 lakhs to a man whose wife died in a stampede that had occurred at New Delhi Railway station in November 2004.
The court directed the government to make the payment to Krishan Kumar Goel, the deceased’s husband, within two months.
While disposing of an appeal, the court made it clear that the ministry can deduct ex-gratia payment of `1.06 lakhs, which was paid to the victim’s family soon after the accident
