Black buck rescued from GK, 4 held
The Delhi police arrested four men for allegedly trying to sell a black buck in Greater Kailash I in south Delhi on Monday.
Bhupender, 24, Amarnath, 23, Pintoo Kumar, 21, and Pawan, 24, were arrested from Greater Kailash when they brought the black buck for finding a suitable buyer here.
“We received information that in view of Eid next month, some people were trying to sell black buck in Greater Kailash near W Block Park,” a senior police official said.
Following the tip off, the official said, a police team conducted searches and seized the black buck from a car and arrested the four occupants.
Hailing from Meerut, the accused stole black bucks from Partapur in Sanjay Van and were trying to strike a deal for `6 lakhs.
Black buck is a threatened antelope that now exists only in scattered populations in India.
Among the arrested, while Amarnath, who works as a storekeeper, is a graduate, Bhupinder has not completed his graduation. Pintoo Kumar is a motor mechanic while Pawan was engaged as driver.
