Blind couple found murdered
A blind couple was on Tuesday found dead in their Vivek Vihar residence. After initial investigations, the local police has registered a case of murder. Police officers have so far stated that they are suspecting the involvement of their two tenants, including a call centre employee, who are missing. The deceased were identified as Rajender
Verma (52) and his wife Sudha (50), residents of Vivek Vihar, a senior police officer stated. While Verma was smothered, his wife was strangled with a wire. The incident came to light when Hema, one of their three daughters, telephoned them at around 5 am. “She did not get a response and then called one of the neighbours Amit Rana. He went to check and found the bodies,” added the police.
Investigating officers suspect the involvement of their two tenants, who started living in their house a week ago and have gone missing. One of them is identified as Ashwini, who works in a call centre in Noida. “Their police verification were not done. The victims lived on the ground floor while the suspects on the second floor,” said the police. Ashwini was spotted by the residents at around 1 am smoking but after that he has been missing, pointed the investigating officers.
Police officers have also stated that Rs 50, 000 and some valuables are missing from the deceased’s residence.
