Blueline crushes 3-yr girl
A three-year-old girl died when a speeding Blueline bus hit a motorcycle in Paschim Vihar on Monday evening.
The deceased, Ritika was going to a wedding reception in Madipur with her uncle, Mukesh, 24, and her mother, Sapna, on a motorcycle when the bus plying on route
number 929 from Old Delhi to Mubarakpur hit them from behind at around 6.30 pm. “The incident took place near an intersection in Multan Nagar, Paschim Vihar. The trio fell on the ground. Ritika and her mother sustained serious injuries. All the three were residents of Sultanpuri,” a police official said.
A passerby informed the police and the two were rushed to a nearby hospital where the doctors declared Ritika brought dead while her mother is recuperating. Her uncle received minor injuries in the accident. According to police, the driver of the bus fled from the spot, abandoning his vehicle.
Enraged by the incident, the relatives and locals started pelting stones at the bus and tried to set it on fire. The girl’s grandfather Shyam alleged that the police arrived on the scene two hours after the call was made, which resulted in a crucial delay in rushing the victims to the hospital. The police however denied the allegations.
