Blueline driver held for jewellery theft
The Delhi police on Thursday arrested a Blueline bus driver for allegedly stealing diamonds and silver worth over `20 lakhs from the residence of an NTPC engineer.
The accused bus driver, Jitender Kumar, was close to the family of NTPC engineer, Deepak Kumar Dahiya.
“Dahiya and his wife Nirmala had gone to Rohini when Kumar allegedly committed theft,” said DCP (southeast) O.P. Mishra.
Kumar had befriended the family some ten years ago when Dahiya’s wife fainted in his bus and he took her to the hospital.
“Finding a suitable opportunity around a month back, he stole the keys of main door from their car,” Mishra said.
He allegedly stole diamonds, silver and a laptop.
