Blueline mows down DU student
A 21-year-old Delhi University (DU) student was crushed to death by the “killer” Blueline bus on Thursday afternoon in the northeast Delhi’s Bhajanpura area.
The police said the victim was crushed to death by one of two Blueline buses that were racing with each other. The incident took place when the deceased, identified as
Aakash Gupta, was heading towards a petrol pump on his motorcycle on road number 67, which leads to Bhajanpura. According to police, Gupta, a first year SOL (School of Open Learning) student of Delhi University and resident of Babarpur’s Hariom Nagar, was about to turn when a speeding Blueline rammed into his motorcycle from behind.
The police said Gupta was rushed to the GTB hospital with severe head injuries, where he succumbed during the course of treatment. “Immediately after the accident, the locals rushed to the spot and intimated us about the incident. The errant driver had managed to escape from the spot,” said the officer. Hours after the incident, the police arrested the errant driver and he was identified Vijender.
