Boy shot by friend in hide-and-seek game
A minor killed his friend in a game of hide-and-seek while playing with a countrymade firearm.
According to the police, the incident took place at Raghubir Nagar, Khayala, in northwest Delhi on Saturday night and the deceased has been identified as Chandan, 10, a Class 6 student of a government school.
He was playing hide-and-seek with his friend, Amit, 10. Both the boys were neighbours and close friends.
“They were playing hide-and-seek. The deceased was playing a thief while his friends was playing policeman. He got hold of a countrymade firearm kept in his house by his father Ramachandran’s friend Mukesh,” a senior police official said.
The boy allegedly opened fire while playing injuring his friend fatally, he said.
People nearby rushed to see what had happened when they heard the gunfire and immediately rushed Chandan to Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital where he was declared brought dead by the doctors. The other child has been admitted in a rehabilitation centre.
When Mukesh came back he threw the pistol in a drain. Both Ramchandra and Mukesh have been arrested.
Meanwhile, a 13-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a youth in a village of faridabad district, the police said. Uncha village resident Suneeta filed a complaint against neighbour Navlu for sexually assaulting her minor daughter yesterday after luring her to come along with him, a police spokesperson said.
The police has registered a case against Navlu.
