Bridge collapse: 4 hurt labourers still critical
The four labourers injured in the collapse of the under-construction foot overbridge near Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, the main Games venue, on Tuesday are still critical and showing “no signs of improvement”.
“Four of them are very critical. They are not responding much to the treatment,” a doctor attending on the patients admitted to Jai Prakash Narayan AIIMS Trauma Centre said.
As many as 27 labourers were injured in the elevated pedestrian crossing collapse.
“Of the 19 injured admitted to AIIMS, 14 were discharged on Tuesday while others will be discharged on Wednesday,” chief medical superintendent, Prof. M.C. Mishra said.
“Four have spinal fractures. They are under observation and will be kept in the hospital. After another week, we will take a decision whether to keep them in hospital or discharge them,” he said.
