Burglars strike at 3 shops in Shakarpur in a night

A gang of burglars struck at three shops in east Delhi’s Shakarpur area and decamped with cash and valuables worth lakhs of rupees on Tuesday night.
The police said all the incidents were discovered between 9 am to 11 am on Tuesday when the shop owners arrived and found that their shops were broken into in the same manner. “The stolen cash and merchandise is estimated to be around `6 lakhs,” a senior police official said.

The police said the first incident was reported by Sanjay Kumar, 39, the owner of a stationery shop in the area’s D block.
“The shop’s locks had been picked and the shutter was cut to gain entry into the shop by the assailants who took away cash, stationery items and a silver statue. Deepak Verma, a chemist and a resident of Preet Vihar, whose shop in the JK block is located close to the stationary shop also found that his shop had been burgled in a similar manner and `1 lakh cash in addition to medicines worth `50,000 had been stolen,” the officer said.
According to the police, the gang had also attempted to gain entry into the medical shop next to Verma’s but decided against it after they couldn’t pick the locks. “We have registered cases and are investigating further,” the officer added.
Meanwhile, a debt-ridden businessman and a bank clerk were arrested along with two others in north Delhi for allegedly fraudulently withdrawing `33 lakhs from the account of a teenaged boy using forged cheques, the police said.
The clerk Dinesh Chandra Chauhan (59) allegedly provided details of the account and specimen of signature of the account-holder to businessman Manoj Tyagi who conspired with others to get a fresh cheque book issued and withdraw `33 lakhs.
Tyagi, his friend Sapna Das and Raj Kumar were arrested along with Chauhan while five others are absconding.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.
