Businessman found dead in Naraina

A 42-year-old businessman was found dead under mysterious circumstances in the Nariana area of southwest Delhi on Thursday night.
The police said the deceased, identified as Praveen Kumar, an iron trader, was spotted lying beneath a flyover in the Nariana area of southwest Delhi at around 1.30 am

on Friday. The police control room was alerted and the victim was taken by a team of cops to AIIMS trauma centre, where he was declared brought dead with critical head and internal injuries.
The police sources revealed that Kumar’s Santro car was found parked on the flyover, just above the spot where his body was recovered and his belongings were found intact. “We have recovered some cash and gold jewellery he was wearing, which suggests that the motive behind the incident was not robbery. The victim could have been targeted for personal enmity,” a senior police official said.
Singh is the uncle of Kuldeep, who along with his wife Monica, was killed on June 20 last year in northwest Delhi’s Ashok Vihar in an incident of honour killing. Kuldeep and Monica belonged to different castes and his family had suspected the hand of someone in her family in the murders.
Police is investigating any possible link between the two incidents.
The police said Kumar used to arrive at his sector 8, Dwarka residence, by 9 pm daily from his Prime Steel Trading shop in Nariana. “On Thursday evening, when he didn’t turn up at his residence, his family members got worried and called him on his mobile but he didn’t respond. His brother then started searching for him and found him beneath a flyover in Nariana, following which he made a PCR call and told the cops that his brother was murdered,” the official said. A case of murder has been registered.
“High levels of alcohol have been found in the victim’s body and preliminary post-mortem examination has found that he had suffered critical injuries in his head and internal organs. It could be possible that he fell from the flyover under the influence of alcohol and died on the spot. We are awaiting the post-mortem report before arriving at any conclusion,” the official added.
