Cabinet nod to Bamnauli power plant
The Delhi Cabinet on Monday approved the proposal to set up a 750 MW gas-based power project at Bamnauli at a cost of `1,600 crores. The Cabinet also gave its nod to call the Budget session of the Assembly from March 15.
The Cabinet decided to award the contract for the Pragati II Bamnauli project to state-owned Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), while seeking allocation of around 3.5 MMSCMD (million standard cubic metres per day) of gas for the project from the Centre.
The Cabinet also gave approval to call the Budget Session from March 15 to 31. Lieutenant-governor Tejendra Khanna will address the Assembly on March 15, while state finance minister A.K. Walia will present the Budget on March 22, which would be passed by the House on March 28.

15-year-old alleges rape by ‘friend’

Feb. 14: A 15-year-old-girl, a resident of Chandni Mahal, Jama Masjid, on Monday alleged that a 25-year-old-man raped her on Sunday night. The incident came to light when the victim reached her residence on Monday and narrated her ordeal to the family. The family informed the police. The victim was sent to LNJP Hospital for examination and the police said that the report would decide the future course of action.
The victim was known to the accused and had accepted his friendship offer. On February 13, he took her to an unknown destination and sexually molested her, said police officials after preliminary investigations.
