Central vista work is almost complete
The work on sprucing up the central vista — which includes area around the Rashtrapati Bhavan, North Block, South Block and India Gate — for the Commonwealth Games-2010 is proceeding at a fast pace. However, the final touches are likely to be given beginning September.
The task of bleaching, giving special chemical bath to monuments like India Gate and other buildings around the area, is almost complete and other works related to facade improvement is also going on at a smooth pace.
However, CPWD officials maintain that the final touches like giving the last quote of paint and other forms of sprucing up of the area will be given only in September.
