City’s top cop to hold daily janata durbar
Senior Delhi police officials will now personally hear grievances of people for two hours, from 12 pm to 2 pm, on all weekdays , commissioner of police B.K. Gupta announced Saturday. Mr Gupta will himself meet people on all weekdays from 12 pm to 1.30 pm.
“I have to give some time for the people. We are here for the people. I will be available to hear the grievances of complainants from this Monday on all week days to improve police functioning in the city,” Mr Gupta told reporters.
All the DCPs, ACPs and other senior officials will be available at their offices everyday and listen to problems, he said.
“If I meet them, they will feel satisfied,” the police commissioner said.
Mr Gupta said that he has asked all assistant commissioners of police to visit and sit in one police station in their area to see and help improve the working culture. Mr Gupta said he will start interacting with his subordinates through videoconferencing facility from his office. —IANS
