Class 10 girl raped in moving SUV

A 15-year-old Class 10 student was allegedly kidnapped by two men and reportedly raped in a moving SUV. The accused kidnapped the girl from West Delhi but their vehicle’s tyres deflated after 5 minutes. They then called their friend for another SUV in which the girl was raped. The incident has been reported from Uttam Nagar area of West Delhi.
The additional commissioner of police (west) V. Renganathan said the main accused Parashu Ram works with a multinational restaurant chain in Gurgaon. The cab driver has been identified as Manoj, a resident of Bakkarwala village in Outer Delhi.
“Parashu Ram has been booked for raping the girl while Manoj has been booked under the kidnapping section,” said Mr Renganathan.
Meanwhile, a senior police official said the girl lives in Uttam Nagar with her family. She told the police that she is pursuing Class 10 from the National Institute of Open Schooling.
“According to the complainant, the accused kidnapped her from Uttam Nagar on Tuesday night. They threatened her of dire consequences when she tried to raise an alarm. The accused called their friend for another car when their car’s tyre deflated and forced her to sit inside. They then took her to a ride across Vikas Nagar, Najafgarh and Narela. The girl alleged that she was beaten up when she resisted. Parashu Ram raped her in the car. They then dumped her near her house next morning,” said the senior police official.
The official further said that the girl narrated the incident to her family members who decided to approach the police.
The police took the girl to the DDU Hospital where rape was confirmed in her medical examination.
Subsequently, an FIR of kidnapping-cum-rape and also including sections of the POCSO Act was lodged at the Uttam Nagar police station.
“We have impounded the SUV in which the crime took place. Both the accused were arrested on Friday following a tip-off,” said the senior police official.
