Class 12 student beaten up
In what appeared to be yet another case of corporal punishment, a Class 12 student of a government school was allegedly beaten up by his school teacher in Mayur Vihar area of east Delhi on Monday. While the school has assured action against the teacher, the parents of the student refused to file a formal complaint with the police.
As per the allegations, Sumit, a student of Class 12 at the government senior secondary school in Mayur Vihar, cracked a joke over some trivial issue, which was not liked by the teacher (name withheld). He allegedly dragged Sumit out of the class and then slapped and boxed him following which Sumit began to bleed.
A security guard deployed at the gate then reportedly intervened and brought the beating to a halt. The incident allegedly occurred when students were enjoying their games period.
