Class 3 student electrocuted

A Class 3 student got electrocuted after coming in contact with a signboard of a gift house in Seemapuri area of northeast Delhi on Wednesday night.
The boy, Shivam, was going to meet his father to take money to buy an ice cream when the mishap occurred at around 8.30 pm. “He was on his way to meet his father who runs a grocery shop. He touched a signboard of a gift shop and got electrocuted. He was rushed to the GTB Hospital where he was declared brought dead,” said a senior police official. The police has lodged an FIR under relevant sections of the IPC against the gift shop owner.

Bikers shot at a businessman Rakesh Pathak, 44, a resident of Shahdara, when he resisted their bid to snatch his bag in Shahdara on Wednesday. “Pathak, who runs a surgical equipments shop at Bhagirath Palace, came out of the Shahdara Metro Station and started walking towards home when two bikers tried to snatch his bag,” said a police officer. When Pathak resisted, the man driving the bike took out a pistol and shot at him twice hitting him in the leg.
When Pathak did not leave the bag despite the bullet injury, the snatcher fired again at him and escaped. The victim was taken to GTB Hospital. “He is out of danger,” said the officer.

CBI team visits Gurgaon park

A team of senior CBI officials on Thursday visited the Police Lines park in Gurgaon to inspect the crime scene where the bullet-riddled body of Geetanjali Garg, wife of a chief judicial magistrate, was found on July 17. The agency has filed a case to probe the alleged murder of Geetanjali Garg on the request of the Haryana government.
A deputy inspector general of the CBI visited the crime scene along with officers and also met local police officials to gather evidence in the case.
The CBI FIR mentions Garg’s husband, a chief judicial magistrate, and his parents as accused in the case.
